Just before tipoff, Lue outlined his determination to speed the game, no matter the conventional wisdom.
“Playing faster,” Lue said, “but taking care of the basketball. But we’ve got to be — we got to play with pace. They’re a good half-court defensive team, we know that, so we can’t Cheap Dri Fit Jerseys get bogged down in the half-court offense. So when we get stops, we get out and run, that’s when we’re at our best.”
Lue is not wrong there. The Cavs have been better when playing with tempo throughout the postseason. Their two worst games heading into the NBA Finals — Game 1 of the Pacers series, in which Indiana had a chance to win on the final possession (a pace of 90.8), and their Game 3 loss to Boston in the conference finals (92.6) — were also the slowest they have had in the playoffs.
During the season, Cleveland was 11-12 in games played with a pace of 96 possessions per 48 minutes or fewer. They were 25-9 when that number topped 99.
But there’s a fool’s gold aspect of playing fast against this Warriors bunch. Lue might be wary of getting Golden State into the halfcourt, but he should be downright petrified about the Warriors in the open floor. Cleveland was able to hang in with the Warriors in the first half Sunday, which gives some credence to Lue’s approach.
Another slam dunk in a first round full of them. Mosley stepped right into a starting job and has since become one of the Ravens’ best defensive players. He recorded at least 110 tackles his first Cheap Embroidered NFL Jerseys two years, and he could’ve reached that again had he not missed two games last season. The Ravens will almost certainly pick up his fifth-year option, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he gets a long-term extension in the near future.
